Calgary Preschool Program – A Nurturing Foundation for Kindergarten
In preparation for kindergarten, Cedarbrae Childcare Centre in Calgary provides a more structured learning program for our preschool-aged children, but still highly encourages learning through play environment. Every day, we incorporate all facets of your child's development. Social, cognitive, language and motor skills are all a part of daily life. In the morning, the children participate in a more typical kindergarten atmosphere, where they learn their ABCs, colours, shapes, numbers, and practice writing their names.
In the afternoon, the children are given the opportunity to learn through play via various play stations in their room. Skill development is enriched with plenty of socialization with purposeful play-based learning. Various art techniques and colour concepts help bolster creativity, problem solving, and self-expression. Cooperative pretend play and the creation of stories helps build emotional expression. To enhance their learning further, we include enrichment programs that occur once a week.
